I do love a good anthology series and Black Mirror is right up there with the best of them. The series is due back on Netflix, but not until 2025. It was last year that Netflix ordered a new series of Black Mirror and now they have released a teaser trailer for it.
It looks like there will be another episode based on the USS Callister. If you have seen that episode, you know how dark the series can be. Every time I see Jesse Plemons, I think of him from that episode. A short synopsis, which will follow the crew of the USS Callister, is:
“Robert Daly is dead, but for the crew of the USS Callister, their problems are just beginning.“
That does sound interesting. There was talk about a spin-off series about the crew at one point, but that never got off the ground.
Charlie Brooker
I’ve been a big fan of Charlie Brooker for a long time. He had some other shows, here in the UK, and I like his writing. Black Mirror has never disappointed me, OK, there are episodes I like more than others. Overall though, it’s had some very interesting stories and tales of woe.
Some of the series has tailed off a little, with season 5 only having 3 episodes. The new season will have 6, which sounds like a good evening binge. Personally, one that still sits with me is Shut Up and Dance. It’s the one where Alex Lawther is filmed playing with himself on his computer. He’s then blackmailed into committing crimes and other things, which just gets worse.
