Just dropped about 15 minutes ago. The cast for Marvel Studios Fantastic Four is finally confirmed and there are some surprises.

Everyone kind of knew Pedro Pascal was in there. Vanessa Kirby was also in the frame. However all the “insiders” and “Scoopers” were just plain wrong about the rest. Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn will make up the rest of the famous foursome.

Pascal will, as expected, star as Reed Richard/Mr. Fantastic, while Kirby will star as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn will play her brother, Johnny Storm/The Human Torch. and Moss-Bachrach will star as Ben Grimm/The Thing.

We are shocked. Shocked that there hasn’t been a reverse gender swap somewhere!

Roger Corman produced an infamous low-budget version in 1994 that was never released but can be tracked down online. Fox and director Tim Story released a pair of films in 2005 and 2007 that received mixed reviews, falling in that era of unloved superhero movies that flooded theaters after Blade, X-Men and Raimi’s Spider-Man re-ignited the genre.

They starred Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, future MCU actor Chris Evans, and Michael Chiklis. In 2015, the Josh Trank reboot was an unmitigated disaster. When Disney acquired Fox, the door was finally open for the Fantastic Four to enter the MCU. Writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby first introduced the team in 1961’s Fantastic Four No. 1.

The Fantastic Four has a new release date of July 25th, 2025, pushed back from May of that year. It hails from WandaVision director Matt Shakman. Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer penned draft of the script, with Avatar: The Way of Water scribe Josh Friedman working on the latest version.
