Adam Sandler is hit and miss, especially these days. Howver, you can’t help but love Happy Gilmore, his comedy about an ex-hockey player who turns pro-golfer.

The original movie came out in 1995 and Happy won the hearts of everyone as he battled Shooter McGavin in a pro golf tournament.

McGavin was played by Christopher McDonald, who said recently a sequel is being worked on. In an interview with Cleveland’s 92.3, McDonald said:

“I saw Adam about two weeks ago, and he says to me, ‘McDonald, you’re gonna love this.’ I said, ‘What?’ He says, ‘How ’bout that,’ [and] he shows me the first draft of Happy Gilmore 2.’”

“Maybe you should cut that out (of this audio) because I don’t wanna be a liar, but he did show me that, and I thought, ‘Well, that would be awesome.’ So, it’s in the works. Fans demand it, dammit.”

Happy Gilmore also had the late, great Carl Weathers in it as the pro golfer teaching Happy. Chubbs lost his hand to an alligator and had it replaced with a wooden one.

This is something that still makes me laugh today.

Happy-Gilmore

When Happy Gilmore first graced our screens, it only made around $38 million, but gained more of a following on video and became a bit of a comedy classic.

There are some great moments in the movie including anything featuring Happy’s former boss Mr Larson, played by Richard Kiel.

Universal still owns Happy Gilmore, but with the current run that Sandler has been having with Netflix, it makes sense if ends up there…

…IN YOUR HOME, WHY DO YOU GO IN YOUR HOME!?!?
