Furiosa may not have landed quite yet, but George Miller has confirmed he’s currently working on another Mad Max prequel entry.

The media effort for Furiosa is warming up, and with a few weeks to go until the premiere in Cannes there was a sneak peak in Sydney.

Talking to the press ahead of the event, he seemed to reveal that a previous novella he had penned has developed into a screenplay.

That novella was set a year before Fury Road and told the story of what happened to Max directly before that movie.

In an interview with EW he said:

“Well, we are certainly working on it. And as I say, we wrote that basically as a novella, and now we’ve got a chance, we will get that into a screenplay form, and then we’ll take it from there.”

To give it the full title, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga lands on May 24th and features Anya Taylor-Joy as the title character and Chris Hemsworth as Warlord Dementus.

I don’t know about you, but buzz seems a little used to me, especially when I compare it to the anticipation before Fury Road.
