Mission: Impossible 8, Part 2 of Dead Reckoning is filming at the moment. And you will never guess what? They have Tom Cruise running. We bet his team gets disavowed too, and then he has to jump off something big, and then hang on to something else.

Here are some images and vides from the filming currently underway on the streets of London.

I imagine Cruse has run around the globe, if you add up the scenes in a movie where he’s running. I get tired running a bath.

Mission: Impossible 8 will see Ethan Hunt (Cruse) pitted against the AI system called the Entity. The same system that sunk a Russian submarine in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning. A key is needed to shut down the AI and then figure out exactly where it’s hiding.

Most of the cast from Dead Reckoning is back with Cruse. Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, and Henry Czerny as Kittridge all return. The bad guys are back as well, Esai Morales as Gabriel, Plom Klementieff as Paris, and Shea Whigham and Greg Tarzan Daivs as US intelligence agents Degas and Briggs.

Joining the cast for this new, final movie in the series are Holt McCallany, Nick Offerman, Janet McTeer, Lucy Tulugarjuk, and Hannah Waddingham. I want to see Offerman playing Ron Swanson.

The Mission: Impossible series has been consistently good. The first three all had their styles, but since number 4, they have settled into a great set of action movies. I’d say a good part of that is due to Christopher McQuarrie, who took over writing and directing from Rogue Nation.

Cruse and McQuarrie have had a good working relationship for a while now. Outside of the Mission: Impossible movies, McQuarrie recently wrote Top Gun Maverick, which did rather well. But then, he also wrote The Mummy (2017), which was not so good.

I’m happy to watch another Mission: Impossible movie, might even treat myself and go to the cinema to see it.
