The end of the Mission: Impossible franchise is nigh. The highly anticipated, and much-delayed Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One will finally arrive this summer as the first part in a two-part finale for the franchise. Tom Cruise, having run out of big things to jump off, is calling time. In this outing, as the returning Eugene Kittridge tells him:

“Your days of fighting for the so-called greater good are over. This is our chance to control the truth. The concepts of right and wrong for everyone for centuries to come. You’re fighting to save an ideal that doesn’t exist. Never did. You need to pick a side.”

So we can deduce that possibly Cruise’s Ethan Hunt, and his team, will be disavowed (do ya think!) and find themselves trying to unravel a deep mystery while having to save their own skins and save the Western world, all at the same time as avoiding their own, ungrateful side locked up in some conspiracy. Seems familiar. I wonder if it will involve choppy-handed running?

Mission-Impossible

A teaser was released a whole year ago. That’s right, one whole year ago. Now, finally, the full trailer is here:

Mission: Impossible- Dead Reckoning Part One will be released on 14th July and once more we will get to see Tom Cruise saving cinema while, at the same time, somehow managing to have found a way to get other people to pay for his extreme sports addiction like some kind of evil genius.
