So it is finally here, after years of trying. The Crow remake from Lionsgate has its first trailer. This is the modern reimagining of the original graphic novel by James O’Barr, remaking the movie that was famously Brandon Lee’s tragic final role.

According tot he blurb, Lovers Eric Draven (Bill Skarsgård) and Shelly Webster (FKA twigs) are brutally murdered when the demons of her dark past catch up with them. Given the chance to save his true love by sacrificing himself, Eric sets out to seek merciless revenge on their killers, traversing the worlds of the living and the dead to put the wrong things right.

Crow

So far, so The Crow. The original is a cult-classic and gets frequent revisits from me. It has held up surprisingly well. It also comes with a touch of melancholy as it quite clearly proves Brandon Lee had a bright future ahead of him.

Here is the new trailer:

Danny Huston, Laura Birn, Sami Bouajila, and Jordan Bolger will co-star. The script is from Zach Baylin and Will Schneider, with Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman and Ghost in the Shell) directing.

Victor Hadida, Molly Hassell, John Jencks, Samuel Hadida, and Edward R. Pressman produce.

The Crow lands in cinemas on June 7th.
