INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE Season 2 Extended Trailer

AMC has released a new trailer for the second season of Interview with the Vampire, its acclaimed series take on Anne Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles.

Telling a more detailed version of the story known from the Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt movie adaption, Interview with the Vampire centers on the life story of vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac, as told to veteran journalist Daniel Molloy, to whom he previously gave an unpublished interview in 1973.

An affluent man in the 1910s New Orleans, Louis is romanced and later made a vampire by the charismatic Lestat de Lioncourt. But Louis struggles with his humanity, and the introduction of Lestat’s newest fledgling, the teenage vampire Claudia, only strains their relationship further. In present day, Malloy begins to question this version of Louis’ story, noting differences from the earlier version he was told.

Season one adapted the first half of the original novel. The eight-episode second season adapts the second half of that first book, starting as Louis (Jacob Anderson) and his vampire “daughter” Claudia (Delainey Hayles replacing Bailey Bass) arrive in Paris after fleeing from New Orleans.

Here they discover Theatre des Vampires, a coven of vampires masquerading as a stage production, featuring real vampires hiding their activities behind the guise of actors, allowing them to exist in plain sight.

There Louis first meets the Vampire Armand (Assad Zaman). They begin a courtship that will have devastating consequences that echo in both past and in the present, as the true horror of what he is dealing with becomes revealed to Molloy.

Eric Bogosian returns as Daniel Molloy, with Sam Reid back as Lestat. Ben Daniels appears as Santiago.

The first season of Interview with the Vampire received positive reviews from critics, with the writing, tone, costumes, soundtrack, and production values highlighted.

Rotten Tomatoes reported a 98% approval rating, while Variety included Anderson and Reid in its list of Best TV Performances of 2022.

Interview With The Vampire is set to return on May 12th.
