Do you know who I’m going to miss? Carrie Fisher. She is our princess (from the original trilogy) and always will be. One of her last roles was in Wonderwell, a fantasy coming-of-age movie. Here is a trailer.

It looks cute and interesting. OK, it’s a kid’s movie in the vein of Alice in Wonderland, Pan’s Labyrinth, and a few other movies. It’s nice to see something that’s not wearing a cape. The story for Wonderwell is:

A coming-of-age fairy tale set between modern-day Italy and an imaginary realm just beyond, Wonderwell follows Violet, a naive and inquisitive 12 year-old-girl, on a thrilling journey that transforms her world forever.

The movie stars Carrie Fisher, Rita Ora, Kiera Milward, Nell Tiger Free, Sebastian Croft, Vincent Spano, Megan Dodds, and Lloyd Owen. Directed by Vlad Marsavin and written by William Brookfield, both relative newcomers. As I said, this doesn’t look like your average modern movie, but it looks like a good one for me and Mrs. Boba to sit down and enjoy in the evening. It would be nice to get rid of the taste of how badly they treated Princess Leia.

Wonderwell

Wonderwell seems to be on streaming at the moment, so I will have to give it a try at least. Let’s put aside sex, drugs, and violence for a bit and enjoy a good kid’s movie. Unless it is The Bridge to Terabithia, which definitely didn’t make me cry!
