Jim, from The Office, has done quite well for himself. I imagine John Krasinski, must hate that, but fair play to him, he has done a lot to get rid of that typecasting. He’s become a writer, director, actor and generally kept himself busy. After the success of A Quiet Place, it had a sequel, then a prequel and now a third movie is in development.
A Quiet Place: Day One, wasn’t the third in the franchise, as it took place away from the main characters. According to reports, a third movie is being made, they are just waiting for schedules to line up, which is like waiting for the stars to align.
Brad Fuller, who produced the first two movies, did an interview with The Direct, and mentioned A Quiet Place III:
“So, Day One is not A Quiet Place Part III, just to be clear… A Quiet Place Part III, we’re starting to put it together right now. You know, when we made the first one, John [Krasinski] didn’t have a lot on his plate.”
“He had just come off The Office, and he wanted to be a director. Now, he’s so in demand, and it’s hard to get him… He’s making a movie now, so as soon as he finishes that, hopefully, he will turn his attention to A Quiet Place Part III. We all want to finish that trilogy, and I’m hopeful there’s even more Quiet Place movies beyond that.”
Krasinski never thought there would be a sequel to the original movie. He wrote the first one, with no intention of making another. Annoyingly, people liked it and it made money, so they were going to make another one, with or without him.
A Quiet Place followed the Abbot family as they hid from aliens that were attracted to sound. The sequel, again directed by Krasinski, carried on with the family, but this time had other humans to deal with. I remember the first one, but I don’t recall much about the second one.
The less said about A Quiet Place: Day One the better. It was about the first day the aliens attack and follow a lady, with her emotional support cat. Again, I did see, but I couldn’t tell you a thing about it.
