Jamie Foxx is being sued by a woman who alleges he sexually assaulted her at a restaurant in New York City… eight years ago! Here we go again.
According to the lawsuit, Oscar winner Jamie Foxx, whose real name is Eric Marlon Bishop, groped the unnamed woman (named in the suit as Jane Doe) in 2015 after she asked to have her photo taken with him. Apparently, Jane and her friend were seated at a table next to Foxx and Mark Birnbaum, the owner of the bar. Jane’s friend asked Foxx for a photo and he dutifully agreed. Foxx began complimenting the Jane ad according to the suit, he said:
“Wow, you have that supermodel body” and “You smell so good.” The suit also states that he said she looked like Gabrielle Union.

After the pleasantries, Foxx allegedly took Jane to a secluded corner of the Catch NYC rooftop lounge rubbed her breasts, and groped her under her pants against her will. The suit also states that Foxx also “put his fingers on and in Plaintiff’s vagina and anus”. The lawsuit says that the incident ended when her friend came looking for her.
Jane’s lawsuit is also seeking damages from the restaurant and bar owner Mark Birnbaum, who was seated with Mr Foxx shortly before the alleged assault occurred. The legal action says Mr Birnbaum and the restaurant’s employees breached their duty of care towards the plaintiff by failing to protect her.
The accuser is suing Foxx for damages, alleging “sexual assault, abuse, assault, and battery”. The lawsuit adds that as a result of the “heinous acts” the woman “suffered and continues to suffer severe emotional distress and anxiety, humiliation, embarrassment, post-traumatic stress disorder, and other physical and emotional damages”.
The fact that Jane “continues to suffer severe emotional distress and anxiety” as well as ‘post-traumatic stress disorder” an astonishing eight years after the alleged assault took place, seems like a long time to be so emotionally scarred before doing something about it. As I’ve said before – innocent until proven guilty.
