NOVOCAINE Trailer Doesn’t Hurt

Jack Quaid has no feelings. Well, he can’t feel things like us, because of Novocaine. There is an NSFW trailer online, so be careful watching it at work.

Is it just me or is the whole ‘overly violent action flick’ thing getting a little tiresome? Novocaine is rated R for the violence, grisly images and language throughout. Yay, more blood.

The movie stars Quaid, Amber Midthunder, Ray Nicholson, Jacob Batalon, Betty Gabriel, Matt Walsh, Conrad Kemp and Even Hengst.

The writers and directors are all relative newcomers. The story is:

When the girl of his dreams is kidnapped, a man incapable of feeling physical pain turns his rare condition into an unexpected advantage in the fight to rescue her.

An Average Joe gets ‘superpowers’ and goes on a killing spree. There’s a bunch of movies going around my head with the same premise. I guess it’s all about how the action is done and, to be fair, the direction does looks like fun.

Quaid was recently in Companion, which I liked, which was more of the same, over-the-top blood and violence. Quaid also stars in The Boys on Prime Video, a show with no violence, language, or sex whatsoever. Ever. Nothing.

Novocaine will be in theatres on the 17th of March. I’m pretty sure I’ll wait for streaming if I get around to seeing it at all.
