There are many movies I would like to experience. I would love to be a Jedi in Star Wars, a Hobbit in Lord of the Rings or a bouncer in Showgirls. One movie I don’t really fancy living in is Saw.
This hasn’t stopped the producers of the Saw franchise from offering a Saw experience for all to enjoy. The newest movie of the franchise is due out soon, simply called Saw X. As part of the media build-up, Lionsgate is bringing the franchise to the Midsummer Scream Convention. This is, apparently, the world’s biggest horror convention. At the convention, being held in the Long Beach Convention Center on the 28th to 30th June, there will be:
“…an incredible Saw experience” for guests to “explore the horrific, unnerving, and unforgettable world of the Saw movies.”
A Saw Experience! Is it going to be like an extreme Dignitas? How would you like to die? We offer a pleasant, dignified death surrounded by your loved ones, or, you can have your head crushed in a giant vice.
This newest movie is directed by Kevin Greutert, who helmed Saw VI and The Final Chapter. The downside is it is being written by the guy who wrote Spiral: From the Book of Saw. Spiral was laughably bad, with a story that made zero sense and plot holes the size of Lizzo’s knickers.
It seems this new movie will focus on the story of John Kramer, as opposed to his victims. Didn’t they do that already? Honestly, I lost interest in the franchise at about part 3 or 4. The rest of them are just more churned-out torture porn, which you would have thought I would have liked, but honestly, they are dull.
Saw X is out in October this year, but if you fancy the experience and live near Long Beach, you can go to the Midsummer Horror Convention. At least you’ll see a load of goth girls there.
