WALTZING WITH BRANDO Trailer

We saw recently Billy Zane as Marlon Brando and he did look impressive. There is now a trailer online for Waltzing with Brando.

The photo we saw was impressive, but that likeness is scary. Zane was cast as Brando about 5 years ago, but the movie has been in limbo since then. It’s only recently that Waltzing with Brando has found a distributor.

The movie is set sometime in the late 60s, early 70s, which was a pivotal point in Brando’s life. His work shifted and he tried to reinvent himself. He had his own island, Tetiaroa in the Pacific Ocean.

He wanted to use the island to become self-sufficient and get off the grid. The downside is that everything needs money and he was running out of it. The trailer shows how he also needed to build a hotel on the island, to pay for it.

It was while Brando was working on Munity on the Bounty, that he found the island and bought it. We’ve all been there, right?

The movie stars Zane as Brando, Tia Carrere, Richard Dreyfuss, John Heder, Alaina Huffman, Camille Razat, and Rob Corddry. It’s odd seeing Heder now as Napoleon Dynamite.

Reading up about the Tetiaroa Island, today it has a terrible rat infestation. So it seems like Hollywood types are still visiting there today. Thank you, thank you, be sure to tip you waitress.

Waltzing with Brando is now due to release on the 30th of November. Will you give it a watch?
