Forget Endgame, forget Return of the Jedi, forget Tom & Jerry, the biggest fight in history is Coke Vs Pepsi. Judd Apatow is looking to make a movie about it.
Back in the 1980s, Pepsi was trying it’s best to outdo Coca-Cola to become the biggest seller of carbon-infused, sugar-filled cola-flavored soda pop. Coca-Cola was originally invented in 1888 as a non-alcoholic drink which could ‘cure what ales you’.
Coca-Cola eventually became one of the biggest sellers of Coke in history. Pepsi wanted in on the action and the Coke vs Pepsi wars began. There was the disastrous launch of New Coke and an advert for Pepsi that left Michael Jackson with burns.
Apatow is set to direct, with Steven Spielberg producing, via Amblin Entertainment. The movie is billed as:
The ultimate underdog tale of history’s most iconic second-place contender (Pepsi) vying for the No. 1 spot (Coca-Cola).
There have been a few movies of this kind of thing. Companies rising, and falling, doing battle with other companies etc. Coke vs Pepsi is something everyone knows about, since everyone has tried them both, or at least heard of them.
