We all love the Last Movie Outpost, it’s the best movie site on the internet… according to our own poll, taken exclusively among ourselves.
Running the website is fun, but it’s also hard work. Everyone here does this alongside their full-time jobs, family life, and everything else.
We always love to bring you the latest news, reviews and everything cool about films. Above all, we wanted to provide a community for somewhere to hang out and chat about movies without overbearing mods or writers who think it’s all about them and their opinions.
We need your help
The website, in the long term, is here to stay, but there is a ‘but’. The work we put into the website is all done out of love. OK, so we occasionally get a cool interview, but the rest of the time, we do what we can, when we can, with the articles and reviews.
Obviously, the Last Movie Outpost does cost us some money between hosting, SSL certs, plug-ins to run things, and so on.
We covered some costs with advertising, but we know this got pretty annoying as ad networks seemingly don’t really listen to our views on what we find an acceptable level of ads to inflict on our Outposters.
So we pulled the plug on them. We are still looking for a solution to this, and will hopefully find something that’s not too intrusive, but also helps cover the costs.
In the meantime, there is something you Outposters can do.
If you can spare a few bucks, here and there, it really helps out.
Our other source of income for the website is our YouTube channel. We have been getting some really cool interviews, and we have trailers we can post. The other thing we will be setting up again is the livestream.
What you can do to help out is just subscribe to the channel and spread the word. Share it with friends and family, put a card in the local shop window, send out carrier pigeons, or whatever it is people do these days.
The adverts on YouTube can be annoying, but just watching new videos, trailers, and anything else we put up really helps out.
We love our community and just want to keep the lights on.
