The biggest news in the world of movies last week was obviously the debut of the teaser trailer for James Gunn’s upcoming Superman. It was the first real look at the character in action, the tone, and the general feeling of what to expect.
We knew it was going to be big, but nobody quite guessed how big. The numbers have started to be collated and it seems the social media beacons were lit. The figures are coming in way above even Warner Bros. most ambitious forecasts.
James Gunn himself took to social media to share a message to fans:
“With over 250 million views and a million social posts, Superman is officially the most viewed and the most talked about trailer in the history of both DC and Warner Bros. This is because of all of you: thank you! We’re incredibly grateful and, most of all, excited to share this movie with you in July. Happy Holidays!”
Meanwhile, DC Film News (via Dark Horizons) reports that there is a different version of the trailer out in cinemas, attached to Sonic The Hedgehog 3, which includes some new shots. A close-up of Mr Terrific, a different look at Lex Luthor, and a peek at Ultraman.
DC Film News has also shared a gif showing David Corenswet as both Clark and Superman.
