Something for the Weekend?

This weekend has Valentine’s Day in it. This is when we celebrate the time Al Capone killed a bunch of people in a restaurant. This is why the prices in restaurants are so expensive today, they have to pay for extra security.

Since today is Valentine’s Day, I told Mrs Boba Phil that I would get her some cheap flowers and chocolate, but tomorrow, when they are on sale. Over this weekend though, there are some new things to watch. The Gorge is out today, and I plan on watching it this evening.

If you need something, non-romantic, to watch, the Last Movie Outpost has you covered with some suggestions:

  • Wolf Man – Movie – Not bad, not great, worth a watch if you haven’t seen it yet
  • The Agency – TV series – Not very engaging
  • Unthinkable – Movie – Fantastic according to GC
  • Final Destination – Movie – All five, you can see my mega review
  • Nice Guys – Movie – Better than expected for a first watch by Wrenage
  • The Green Slime (1968) – Movie – Cheesy B-movie, but great fun
  • The Day After Tomorrow – Movie – Cheesy, but an enjoyable watch
  • Romy & Michelle’s High School Reunion – Movie – Classic 90’s comedy, still funny
  • Romy & Michelle: In The Beginning – TV Movie – bloody awful!
  • Inside Man – Movie – Fun Denzel Washington movie
  • Redemption, aka, Hummingbird– Movie – A good Jason Statham action flick
  • Breakin’ 1 and 2: Electric Boogaloo – Movies – First was good, second one dragged a little
  • Enter the Ninja – Movie – A terrible American ninja movie, but so bad it was fun
  • Don’t Move – Movie – A Netflix thriller that was not terrible, interesting concept

There’s more than a few suggestions for this weekend and a real mixed bag as well.

I watched Romy & Michelle, and as I said, the first one is fun. The second one starred Katherine Heigl and Alex Breckenridge and was terrible. Firstly, it’s set just after high school. In the original movie, Survino and Kudrow, played them in high school. In this prequel, there are two new actresses.

Wrenage watched Nice Guys. He was initially put off by Ryan Gosling, because he:

“…thought of him as a pretty-boy who took himself too seriously.”

But Wrenage was pleasantly surprised by Nice Guys.

We’re hopefully watching Captain America: Brave New World and The Monkey this weekend, so expect reviews. As I said, I’m looking forward to The Gorge this evening, I hope it’s good.

What are you watching this weekend?
