Who wants to see Kevin Bacon as a bounty hunter, brought back from the dead to hunt demons as a Bondsman for the Devil? If you answer yes, then you are in luck. Check out this trailer for The Bondsman.
A new TV series from Blumhouse, The Bondsman, is coming to Prime Video. It stars Bacon, Damon Herriman, Jennifer Nettles, Maxwell Jenkins, Beth Grant, and Jolene Purdy.
Grainger David is the creator, a relatively new name. The main plot is:
Resurrected bounty hunter Hub Halloran gets an unexpected second chance at life, love, and his nearly-forgotten musical career – only to find that his old job now has a demonic new twist.
The good news is that there are 8 episodes each of 30 minutes. This makes a refreshing change, not 24 episodes stretched out over 59 seasons. I’m happy to give this a try for 30 minutes a week.
The Bondsman seems to be set in a country music club, where Hub Halloran’s (Bacon) ex-wife works. Purdy is played by Midge, who is:
“…weary with the understated gravitas of someone who’s learned the hard way how to hold her ground in a male-dominated world. Midge may look unassuming but she’s actually a secret emissary.”
Ugh, we have to jam it in there somewhere. It could be worse, it could be Awkwfina. I’m up for seeing Bacon killing demons as The Bondsman, but I’m not sure about the comic relief, though.
The Bondsman will start streaming on the 3rd of April on Prime Video.
