Production is now in full swing in Sicily for The Odyssey, with location shooting also planned for Morocco and studio work in London. Christopher Nolan’s first foray into the world of historical mythology has got a lot of people interested.
There is talk of giant practical effects being created for the various monsters from the story. There is also speculation as to who will play whom in the movie.
Many are guessing that Tom Holland will be playing the role of Telmachus. He was the son of Odysseus. In Homer’s Odyssey, Telemachus spends the first four books trying to gain knowledge of his father, Odysseus, who left for Troy when Telemachus was still an infant.
Odysseus has been absent from his home at Ithaca for twenty years due to the Trojan War and the intervention of Poseidon. Telemachus eventually sets out to find his father.
Now, some set pics have leaked from the production in Sicily that show Holland at work. Is this him setting off to find his father, to be played by Matt Damon. Whatever they are doing, boats are involved. Here are the pics directly from Instagram:
