Fellow Outposters, join us in the great hall for another debate. Not just a debate, but a great debate. Put on your thinking caps, don your debating gowns, and ready yourselves to battle wits for the ages. Well, battle wits for this weekend.

Being an actor is an odd job. One day, you are a nobody, working in a café with no hope for the future. The next day, you are on the cover of Empire magazine as Disney’s next big thing.
Although this kind of thing also happens the other way. For this week’s great debate, let’s look at things that went wrong for some actors. Take for example, Liam Neeson.
In 1994, Neeson was nominated for an Oscar for the movie Schindler’s List. Working under the direction of Steven Spielberg, his portrait of Oskar Schindler is iconic in cinematic history.
It’s now 2025, and this is Neeson.

Now, I know actors like to do different kinds of roles. As we are talking about The Naked Gun, Leslie Nielsen was a serious actor before turning to comedy. Most of Nielsen’s most famous work, though, is great comedy and he was a funny guy.
Neeson isn’t just turning up in The Naked Gun remake, but also things like Ice Road: Vengeance.
Taken was a great movie but since then he’s been churning out action movies like an assembly line. Each one is more forgettable than the last. So, after thinking about this, for the great debate this week, we’re asking:
Who do you feel most sorry for, for the way their career turned out?
Some actors and directors had it all, the world at their feet, and things just fell apart for them. People like Rachel ‘Weird, Weird’ Zegler brought it upon themselves, with their own stupidity.
People like Kevin Bacon, who now make adverts in the UK for a mobile phone service, made bad investments, and it was their own fault.
Join the great debate and let us know who you think has had the most terrible fall from a great height. Not to mock, but to commiserate and discuss.
