Who wants to see Orlanda Bloom getting hit in the face repeatedly? Then you are in luck, as he does in a new trailer for The Cut.
It’s weird that I have seen several boxing movies of late; it must be a new trend. At least it’s not another horror movie. I have asked for a screener, so a review is on the way.
The Cut stars Orlando Bloom (not Jones), Caitriona Balfe, John Turturro, Clare Dunne, Gary Beadle, Ed Kear, Oliver Trevena, and Mohammed Mansarary. Sean Ellie directs with Justin Bull and Mark Lane penning the script.
Going through Ellis’ movies, I see he made Cashback. If you know of Cashback, you will know why it has fond memories.
The story for The Cut is:
A retired boxer returns to the ring for one last shot at the title but only if he can make the weight. Holed up in a room in Las Vegas he embarks on an intensive and illegal weight cut program with an unscrupulous trainer.
The entire thing looks pretty intense; Bloom lost 52 pounds in three months to prepare for the role. I wish I got a role like that, I could stand to lose that much, and then a bit more, then twice as much.
The press release didn’t have many more details about the movie, but then, that’s a good thing. Most of the time, the less you know about a movie, the better that movie is.
The Cut will be in UK cinemas from the 5th of September.
