Those reports were dismissed by the production company, and the thing seemed to remain in existence.
Other rumors said there was an ongoing debate over the tone and setting of the project, with a revolving door of writers. It seems likely that the new Tomb Raider project will arrive at some point, with Sophie Turner still set for the lead role, according to the trades.
