A Universal and Warner Bros. tie-up was long rumored, pretty much since Disney bought Fox. Then, suddenly, Paramount got Ellison rich and they were in the frame.
Now, a new contender has entered the ring.
According to a report at Puck News, Netflix is considering a bid.

It is presumed this would be for the studio and streaming half of the business, now a distinct and contained part of the organisation following a recent restructure.
Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos and Warner’s David Zaslav have also been spotted together at an event last weekend.
Warner Bros. has a market cap of about $48 billion, but that’s including the Discovery side of things. The studio and streaming side would be about two thirds of that.
This race is hotting up.
