Ahh, the weekend, nothing but the sofa, beers, and movies. What more could a man ask for? Well, I wouldn’t mind Jessica Chastain in nothing but her socks. I guess I’ll have to settle for some good movies instead.
It’s always tough to find something to watch over the weekend, but The Last Movie Outpost has some suggestions for you.
- Prisoner of War – Movie – Scott Atkins in a POW camp, not bad, see our review.
- St Elmo’s Fire – Movie – Peak 80s, when stalking was allowed, again, see our review.
- The Strangers: Chapter 2 – Movie – I wasn’t sure if I watched this, but I guess I did. It’s terrible, an awful movie, with a third one on the way.
- Krull – Movie – Classic 80s sci-fi fantasy, with a young Liam Neeson in it.

- The Twilight Zone – TV series – The original series is still brilliant.
- The Children – Movie – Wrenage’s fault, but an entertainingly bad movie.
- The Runarounds – TV series – On Amazon, about a young band, and very good.
- Only the Lonely – Movie – Because of John Candy, but not his best movie.
- The ‘burbs – Movie – Classic from Joe Dante, and still very funny.
- The Astronaut – Movie – One of the worst movies of 2025.
- The Twits – Movie – Based on the Roald Dahl book, and not good. In fact, I turned it off (and never finished it) to watch…
- The Ten Commandments – Movie – A classic from Cecil B. DeMille and wonderfully epic.
- Running Scared (1986) – Movie – An underrated movie from Peter Hyams.
- Wild (2014) – Movie – Reece Witherspoon does Into The Wild. The original was much better.
So there you go, some movies for the weekend. What are you going to watch?
