The gaming industry has far better writers than Hollywood at the moment. They do tend to have a much more creative experience than what we have to endure at the cinema. There have been a series of new trailers for games coming out next year, so let’s have a look and see what’s good.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis
I haven’t played a Tomb Raider game for ages, but they still seem to be popular. I think the last one I played, she had pyramid boobs. There is a trailer out for her newest game, Legacy of Atlantis.
From the Tomb Raider website:
As Lara Croft, harness your wits and athleticism to explore exotic locations lost to time—from the jungles of Peru to the ancient ruins of Greece, the deserts of Egypt, and a mysterious Mediterranean island shrouded in myth. Traverse treacherous landscapes, solve deadly contraptions, and face lethal predators as you hunt for the scattered pieces of the Scion, an artifact of immeasurable power.
Whether you’re a veteran raider or new to Lara’s world, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis delivers jaw-dropping visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5, modern game design, and new surprises, while honoring the spirit and atmosphere of Lara Croft’s debut adventure. The game arrives in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam.
James Bond: First Light
There is a new James Bond game coming out, First Light, with a trailer:
From the Steam website, about Fight Light:
Hitman studio IO Interactive is excited to push its own boundaries with 007 First Light, the upcoming Bond game releasing in March 2026.
At an exclusive pre-Game Awards panel, IOI CEO Hakan Abrak stressed that, though the Bond connection is a natural fit for the assassin-game makers, you should expect a variety of gameplay styles, from “signature stealth and creative problem-solving” to “high-stakes espionage.” It’s, for the team, “the most ambitious project” they’ve ever done.
007 First Light players will grow with Bond in this fully reimagined origin story, and choose whether to attack the litany of grunts and occasional criminal masterminds with spycraft, combat, improv, or an arsenal of 007-style gadgets.
Divinity
Divinity comes from Larian Studios and is their biggest game in Balder’s Gate 3. Heads up, this trailer is very NSFW.
Sorry, it’s age-restricted. If you watch it, you’ll see why. Here is more information about Divinity.
For those unfamiliar with the franchise, Divinity is Larian’s own IP, as opposed to the hit Baldur’s Gate 3, which is technically owned by Hasbro. The original Divinity games were action RPGs as opposed to the Original Sin entries, which were turn-based RPGs. The developer is yet to confirm which direction the new Divinity will go in, but we’d expect it to be the former.
Resident Evil
I’ve lost count of how many Resident Evil games there have been, but it’s still a popular franchise. The newest game, Resident Evil Requiem, has a trailer.
Again, from the Resident Evil website:
A body has surfaced at an abandoned hotel in the Midwest, the latest in a mysterious string of deaths throughout the United States. FBI intelligence analyst Grace Ashcroft has been assigned to the case—in the same place where her mother was murdered eight years prior. But when word gets out that a police officer has gone missing at the hotel, veteran agent Leon S. Kennedy is also dispatched to the scene.
As Grace and Leon’s paths converge, they must face their pasts and uncover the truth behind the Raccoon City Incident that changed the world forever. But while the terrors of their memories echo in their minds, will they relive the nightmare…or finally offer up a requiem for the dead?
Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic
The only good place for Star Wars content is in gaming. There is a new game coming out, Fate of the Old Republic. Here is the trailer:
Not giving away much, but if there are laser swords, I’m in. It’s also single player, so I’m even more in. Again, more information from the Fate of the Old Republic website.
