Mike Flanagan really is now the Stephen King guy. After Doctor Sleep, Gerald’s Game and The Life Of Chuck, he’s now in for The Mist.
The director of The Haunting of Hill House and Hush has also recently shot a limited series adaptation of Carrie, and is developing The Dark Tower for TV.

A report in Deadline says Flanagan has already signed on the dotted line to adapt the 1980 novella for Warners.

The Spike TV version was not so well remembered.
The story follows a group of people sheltering in a local grocery store and their town becomes covered in a mysterious mist which contains vicious monsters.

Flanagan is currently shooting a new instalment of The Exorcist set for 2027.
