Bond Says “No” To BATMAN

The Batman: Part II has one troublesome role that it seemingly just can’t cast. That of Harvey Dent’s father, Christopher Dent. Brad Pitt and Stellan Skarsgard have both declined. Now comes the news that former James Bond, Daniel Craig, has also declined the part.

According to a report at World of Reel Craig will be appearing in Damien Chazelle’s unnamed prison-set movie alongside Cillian Murphy and Michelle Williams, so he could not commit.

The same report also claims that The Batman: Part II will follow Batman/Bruce Wayne (Robert Pattinson) as he forms an alliance with District Attorney Harvey Dent (Sebastian Stan), Commissioner James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright) to track a serial killer with deep links to the mafia power base of Gotham City.

If so, this would seem to be an adaptation of The Long Halloween, a famous comic book series written by Jeph Loeb with art by Tim Sale. Baked into this story is how the mafia overlords of Gotham were eventually replaced by costumed freaks and their henchmen.

Scarlett Johansson, Colin Farrell, Paul Dano, and Barry Keoghan all co-star. The Batman: Part II shoots this late spring in London and Glasgow. The rumor is that Liam Neeson would be offered the part next, but he may feel he has already done his time in the world of Batman.
