Indie Trailer: THE TROLL

Trolls used to be fun; they would sit under bridges and scare people. Sadly, modern trolls aren’t the same; they hide in their mom’s basement and shout at a computer screen. In this new indie movie, The Troll, someone does something about them.

What expression did we come up with? Super-indie. Not just indie, but a level of indie that’s very, very indie. On the IMDb, it says the estimated budget was $12,000. Yeah, we can see that.

The story of The Troll is:

A TikTok megastar spirals after one cruel comment, stalking her troll in a descent that blurs fame, obsession, and revenge.

I’ve never been on TikTok, and I never want to be. However, having nasty comments online is like the inevitability of Disney producing a crappy Star Wars. The rest about The Troll is from the press release.

Psychological horror-thriller The Troll will celebrate its world premiere at the 34th Raindance Film Festival on 20th June. Selected as part of the festival’s Official Selection, the film’s Director and star Brianna Lee has also received a nomination for Best Performance in a Debut Feature.

Killa B, a TikTok superstar, thrives on the adoration of millions – until a single cruel comment cuts too deep. Obsession takes hold as she tracks down the anonymous troll, infiltrating his life and destabilising his family. Her descent culminates in a confrontation that lays bare the psychological toll of life in the spotlight.

The Troll stars Brianna Lee (The Professional, A Sea Cliff Story), Katy Frame (Men in Black 3, What Now?), Greg Saridakis, Alena Acker (And Just Like That, Law & Order), Matthew Eyre (Slow Down), Richard Mark Jordan (Tires, The Chair Company), Jake Lesh (The Camper, Made of Stars) and Dominick Cost (Tomorrow’s Bandits).
