There are bad days, and there are bad days. The lead character in Whalefall is having one hell of a bad day.
Following the death of his father (Josh Brolin), Jay Gardiner (Austin Abrams) goes diving off the central coast of California in search of his remains, but is unexpectedly swallowed by a massive sperm whale. While trapped inside its belly with only one hour of oxygen left, Jay comes to realize that the hard-earned lessons his father imparted may be the key to his escape.
Now, 20th Century Studios has premiered the second trailer for the high-concept survival thriller.
Elisabeth Shue, John Ortiz, Jane Levy and Emily Rudd co-star in the film which was based on the well-regarded novel by Daniel Kraus.
Brian Duffield directs. If that name seems familiar it is because he was the writer on Love and Monsters and Underwater who then directed No One Will Save You.
Lead by actor Austin Abrams (Weapons) will also be seen in Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil next month.
Whalefall will open in cinemas on October 16th.
