The first series of Ahsoka was shot almost entirely on the Volume stage in California, with high-definition LED screens providing virtual settings. These stages have now proliferated around the world, and there are several of these stages now among the production facilities available to filmmakers in the UK.
Now, according to a report in IndieWire, production of the second season of Ahsoka will also make the journey across the Atlantic. It will shoot in April in the UK. The Mandalorian and Grogu is also shooting in the UK.
Interestingly, Andor was also shot almost completely in the UK, and made much more use of location shooting and much less use of virtual stages.
The second season of Ahsoka will, according to the report, also make less use of a Volume stage.
Rosario Dawson stars as the title character, reprising the role she first played in The Mandalorian. Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and David Tenant will return. No news yet on what they will do regarding the character of Baylan Skoll. Ray Stevenson sadly passed away last year.
Season 2 of Ahsoka is expected to see more Anakin Skywalker and will pave the way to Dave Filoni’s version of Heir To The Empire so Grand Admiral Thrawn will also return.
