Directors Joe and Anthony Russo have been out doing the rounds for their upcoming Netflix project The Electric State, and inevitably, they are asked all sorts of questions about their next assignment, two further Avengers movies.
They talked about Robert Downey Jr. and his approach for the role of Victor Von Doom, saying:
“He’s writing backstory, costume ideas… he just really loves rich three-dimensional characters, and I think he sees a real opportunity here.”
On the subject of Doom, a report has gained real traction online that reveals the general plot of the first movie, Avengers: Doomsday. According to The Cosmic Circus, Doom is trying to stop multiverse incursions and save his own timeline from collapse, even if it means the destruction of “The Sacred Timeline” in the process.
In various other interviews, they have spoken runtime, saying that they will mirror Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, with the first being around two and a half hours and the second running longer.
Avengers: Doomsday will start to shoot shortly, heading for cinemas on May 1st, 2026. Secret Wars will be filmed straight afterward with a May 7th, 2027 release. Right through the center of them will be Spider-Man 4 on July 31st, 2026. No doubt they will all connect somehow.
We don’t yet know if Doctor Doom will make an appearance in the upcoming Fantastic Four.
