Bautista To GOD OF WAR?

Things on the set of the new God of War series aren’t going well. We had an image from the new series recently. It had Ryan Hurst and Callum Vinson as Kratos and his son Atrus.

God-of-War

Out killing rabbits with your father, core memories right there. Well, things didn’t work out of Hurst.

While filming a stunt, he tore a bicep and had to go into surgery. He’s in recovery, but Amazon had to keep God of War moving forward. They decided to recast the role. Pretty gutting for Hurst, as he had spent months in training to beef up to look like Kratos.

God of War was put on hiatus, but Amazon need to get it finished. In talks for the role is Dave Bautisa; is he going to have to bulk up again?

The series follows the fate of Kratos and Arteus as:

…they embark on a journey to spread the ashes of their wife and mother, Faye. Through their adventures, Kratos tries to teach his son to be a better god, while Atreus tries to teach his father how to be a better human.

The show has been in production for a while, and reports say the first four episodes are complete. Not sure how Kratos will go through a sudden change, though. Maybe it will be like Bella Lugosi in Plan 9 from Outer Space. Kratos can spend the second half of the series holding a disguise over his face.

Ronald D. Moore is the showrunner and best known for Battlestar Galactica and Outlander.
