To add to the list of Girl Boss Movies to add to the list is now Canary Black. Starring Kate Beckinsale, there is a trailer online.
On the one hand, it doesn’t look bad. On the other hand, it also looked like Atomic Blonde, Salt, Underworld and Jolt. Oddly enough, the last two-starred Beckinsale.
Canary Black stars Beckinsale, Saffron Burrows, Rupert Friend, Ben Miles, Michael Brandon, and Arben Bajraktaraj. Pierre Morel is directing, and Matthew Kennedy has written.
Morel directed the original Taken, and then things like The Gunman, Peppermint, The Ambush and Freelance. I think I have seen all of those but couldn’t tell you a thing about them.
The story for Canary Black is:
It follows Avery Graves as she is blackmailed by terrorists into betraying her own country to save her kidnapped husband.
Hardly original but, as I said, the trailer at least looks like half decent action. Well, until the ‘bitch’ line, then it goes all ‘modern audience’. I guess you have to put in something like that now and then, it’s 2024.
One of the producers said about the movie, Morel and Beckinsale:
“Anton (the production company) is thrilled to bring action master, Pierre Morel, together with Kate Beckinsale who broke the mold of the action hero in the Underworld franchise. They both continue to up their games and push the genre today.“
Get your nose out of their asses. I hate management talk, so let’s think outside the box on this one, give 110% to this movie coz we would appreciate the feedback. Beckinsale has been working smarter, not harder and failure is not an option.
Canary Black is due on Prime on the 24th Oct.
