Yesterday afternoon, on social media, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn revealed that he has found his Brainiac. Lars Eidinger has been cast in the upcoming Man of Tomorrow.
Famous names like Matt Smith, Claes Bang, and Sam Rockwell were rumoured. Vin Diesel was said to want the role. In the end, the director went in a different direction.
Eidenger has featured in Babylon Berlin and All the Light We Cannot See, and had a role in Dumbo. He can next be seen in Jay Kelly.
In the social media post, Gunn said:
“In our worldwide search for Brainiac in Man of Tomorrow, Lars Eidinger rose to the top. Welcome to the DCU, Lars.”
David Corenswet returns as Clark Kent/Superman, alongside Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl, and Frank Grillo as Rick Flag, Sr. There is also a rumor going around out there that Wonder Woman might make her debut in this film.
Man of Tomorrow lands in theaters on July 9th 2027.
