CAPOTE: 2 Disc Limited Collector’s Mediabook Edition

I can’t say if I have seen Capote, but it does sound interesting:

In 1959, Truman Capote learns of the murder of a Kansas family and decides to write a book about the case. While researching for his novel In Cold Blood, Capote forms a relationship with one of the killers, Perry Smith, who is on death row.

The movie stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, Clifton Collins Jr., Catherine Keener, Allie Mickelson, David Wilson Barnes, Kate Shindle, and Chris Cooper. Bennett Miller is the director, with Dan Futterman and Gerald Clarke serving as writers.

A new 2-disc limited collectors’ mediabook is now out in the UK. From the press release:

7th July 2025, London, UK: Capelight Pictures & Altitude have announced that the Academy Award ® Winning crime thriller, Capote, will be re-released in the UK on a special 2-Disc Limited Collector’s Edition Blu-ray & DVD from 21st July.

Directed by Bennett Miller (Foxcatcher, Moneyball) and starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, the film was first released to critical acclaim in 2005. Capote received 5 Oscar ® nominations: Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay (Dan Futterman), Best Supporting Actress (Catherine Keener) and Best Director (Bennett Miller), and Best Actor (Philip Seymour Hoffman).

The late Philip Seymour Hoffman, whom Empire described as “miraculously well-cast”. He delivered a career-defining performance as Truman Capote. It was a role that earned him his first and only Academy Award for best actor. This made the movie exceptionally memorable.
