Chase Wants More AMIGOS?

Chevy Chase is now 82 years old. For years, stories about him swirled. From on-set behaviour to fights with Bill Murray. From his Saturday Night Live heyday, and career peak in the 1980s, the stories eventually seemed to subdue his career. Even a recent role in Community came to an end.

The upcoming Marina Zenovich documentary – I’m Chevy Chase and You’re Not – will cast a light on all of this.

Chase starred with Steve Martin and Martin Short in The Three Amigos nearly forty years ago. Written by Martin, Lorne Michaels, and Randy Newman, it was directed by John Landis. It is well-loved today.

Martin and Short’s Only Murders in the Building is going strong, with a sixth season about to start. There has been talk for years about Chase making a cameo/ It even got as far as Producer John Hoffman being quizzed about it in interviews.

Now, Chase has spoken openly about getting the band back together. In a story from People Magazine, as reported by Dark Horizons, he said:

“Right now they’re busy on TV making that I only have murders in my building… It’s a good show. Yes, it’s good, they’re good, but they really are lacking me. That’s where we gotta get going.

If you really want to have a movie with Steve and Marty, you have to have me. I miss them, that’s all I’m saying. I really miss them, they’re great.”

One last roll of the dice before they all get way too old for any of this?
