DUNE 3 Has Begun Production

In a world where entertainment is rare, it’s nice to have something to look forward to. Denis Villeneuve’s Dune trilogy gives us hope, though. So far, the Dune series has been two for two.

Villeneuve has started production on his third and last Dune movie. The series might continue, but Villeneuve has said he’s not planning any more after this.

This third movie has been given an official title: Dune: Part 3. You have to hand it to these Hollywood writers; they know what they are doing. This third movie is based on the book Dune Messiah, but I guess he’s not the messiah (everyone) ‘He’s a very naughty boy!’

The cast, so far, for Dune 3 is Timothee Chalamet, Florence Pugh, Robert Pattinson, Jason Momoa, Zendaya, Ida Brooke. No word on Christopher Walken, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, or any of the other actors from the second movie.

One thing about the Dune movies is how spectacular they look. The production is incredibly beautiful and the CG really brings Arrakas to life. It’s been confirmed that Linus Sandgren is the cinematographer on this third movie. He will be replacing Greig Fraser, who worked on the first two.

Sandgren has worked on movies like La La Land and No Time to Die. Dune 3 will also be shot in IMAX, which is going to be a sight to behold. An image has been released as production starts.

Spoilers, but it looks like there’s going to be a lot of desert shots in the movie. There is no news on a release date yet, but Dune 3 is something to look forward to.

Please help keep the lights on at the Last Movie Outpost, if you can spare a few bucks.
