It looked for a while that we might never find out what happens next. Is the crew really dead in a plane crash? Has Dom got his fambly killed on a dam? Just how will Gal Gadot, Charlize Theron, and Michelle Rodriguez spend their time on a long submarine voyage, and will it involve a pillow fight? Fast & Furious looked dead and buried.
Not anymore. With a new rollercoaster coming to Universal Studios, the franchise won’t be allowed to die. The eleventh and final film in the Fast & Furious franchise has a release date and a title.
Fast Forever will open in cinemas on March 17th, 2028. In typical style, it was announced on Instagram by Vin Diesel, who said:
It marks the first real studio movement on the film, following many months of social media teases from star Vin Diesel on Instagram.
“No one said the road would be easy… but it’s ours. One that has defined us and become our legacy…And a legacy… lasts Forever. March 17th 2028! FAST FOREVER.”
Calm down Vinnie. It’s some movies about cars.

This will be five years after Fast X and all those cliffhangers.
This sequel is supposed to be more moderately budgeted than previous instalments, so who knows? Maybe some of the roster of characters really will stay dead? The full cast of previous instalments includes Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, John Cena, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Scott Eastwood, Daniela Melchior, Alan Ritchson, Helen Mirren, Brie Larson, Rita Moreno, Jason Statham, Jason Momoa, and Dwayne Johnson.
The new film will return primarily to Los Angeles, the setting of the first film.
