There can be only one, and that one is Henry Cavill. The first images of him as Connor MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod in the new version of Highlander.
He seems to have a sword, which I think is integral to the story of Highlander. There’s not much to give away with this image, but the atmosphere looks good. There is another image to share as well.
This is more interesting, as it seems to be set in Asia somewhere. The story for this new Highlander is:
An immortal Scottish swordsman faces off with other immortal warriors in order to obtain a coveted ability.
The cast, according to the IMDb is Cavill, Dave Bautista, Marisa Abela, Russell Crowe, Karen Gillan, Jeremy Irons, Djimon Hounsou, Kevin McKidd, Siobhan Cullen, Jeon Jong-seo, and Jin Zhang.
Chad Stahelski is directing, with Ryan J. Condal, Michael Finch, John Petro, and Kerry Williamson as screenwriters. That’s a few people for one script. I hope that means good news.
Stahelski has said they will be using Queen’s soundtrack from the original movie, but ‘in a different way’.
I will say that having Cavill working on Highlander gives a bit more hope. The guy seems to stick to his guns and make sure the lore of the story is followed. I didn’t see The Witcher season 4, but from what everyone said, Cavill was right to leave it.
Highlander is still in pre-production at the moment, and Scotland is listed as a filming location. I hope Cavill is wearing his undies if he has to wear a kilt, it’s chilly up there. Karen Gillan, on the other hand, I would be happy to see with no und..I digress.
There is no news of a release date, but hopefully, Highlander will be something to look forward to.
