Indie Trailer: A YEAR IN LONDON

Imagine A Year in London? I mean, some of it is nice, the London Underground is fun to get around, and, if you’re lucky, you can find love. Like in this trailer for a new Indie movie.

The movie has been described as ‘Fashion meets passion in this lesbian romance’. So, Devil Wears Prada, but instead of all hating each other, they love each other, a bit too much.

A Year in London stars Melanie Liburd, Nina Pons, Matteo Bassi, Clementina Aliberti, Shaun Ramos, Charlotta Morrelli, and Karin Giegerich. Flaminia Graziadei is the writer and director. The story is:

An LGBTQ Anglo-Italian love story on the backdrop of the new wave of British fashion with gender fluidity, diversity, inclusion and sustainability at its core.

Let’s see, all of the major tick boxes are there, good, good. I can’t help but think this type of thing is a dying trend, but who knows? The rest of the information is from the press release.

Starring Melanie Liburd, who won Best Actress at the California Women’s Film Festival, and Italian talent Nina Pons, the LGBTQ+ romance journey recounts a year in London, exploring passion, identity, and sustainable fashion. The film was featured at the 41st Lovers Film Festival in Turin, Italy, with a special panel presentation on 19th April.

A sheltered Italian fashion student in London for the first time forms an intense, intimate bond with her brilliant mentor after they survive a violent robbery—forcing them to choose between ambition, boundaries, and the love they’re afraid to name.

Shot across Basilicata, Rome and London, the film creates a striking visual dialogue between Southern Italy and the UK capital.

A Year in London will be in UK cinemas from the 17th July.
