Indie Trailer: CONSECRATION

A trailer is out for Consecration, which has been out in the US for a while, but is new to the UK. The movie stars Jena Malone and Danny Huston.

Consecration stars Malone, Huston, Janet Suzman, Will Keen, Thoren Ferguson, Steffan Cennydd, Kit Rakusen, and Eilidh Fisher. Christopher Smith is the writer and director, co-writing with Laurie Cook.

Smith has some good movies on his resume: Creep, Severance (2006), Triangle, and Black Death. All of these are solid movies, Triangle is very clever.

The story for Consecration is:

After the alleged suicide of her priest brother, Grace travels to the remote Scottish convent where he fell to his death. Distrusting the Church’s account, she uncovers murder, sacrilege and a disturbing truth about herself.

The poor woman her brother dies, and then she has to go to Scotland. Talk about out of the frying pan, into another frying pan. There’s obviously something going on at the convent, and she’s going to find out what.

There is a block on certain territories around the world, so you might not be able to see it. We were allowed to put it up on the official YouTube Channel. It looks like this has been out in the US since 2023, so you might have seen it already.

Consecration is in cinemas on the 19th of May, and then on digital platforms from the 16th of June.
