Saw is now on the 10th movie. Yes, they have now dragged this franchise out over 10 instalments, and I don’t think that includes Spiral: From the Book of Saw, which was laughably bad. It seems not having Jigsaw in a Saw movie doesn’t really work. So Tobin Bell is back in this new trailer.

How long has Jigsaw had his cancer spreading? It’s about 20 years, isn’t it? It turns out this is a prequel, set between Saw and Saw 2. Anyway, from the trailer, we can see it looks like he’s found a cure, but has been duped. The answer? Kill all those people that duped him. The official synopsis is:
A sick and desperate John Kramer travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of finding a miracle cure for his cancer — only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. Armed with a newfound purpose, the infamous serial killer returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through devious, deranged and ingenious traps.
Dealing with a subject matter like cancer is a fine line. I’m not sure showing a man dying from it and still getting the time to build “devious, deranged, and ingenious traps” is the way to go. But then, what do I know? I’m not a Hollywood writer.
The movie stars Bell, Shawnee Smith, Steven Brand, Synnøve Macody Lund, Michael Beach, Renata Vaca, Joshua Okamoto, Paulette Hernandez, and Octavio Hinojosa. Kevin Greutert is directing and served as editor on five of the previous movies.
Saw X is due out on 29th September.
