Jordan To Direct A New THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR

Sigh. In the ‘They don’t need to do that’ category, Hollywood is remaking the Thomas Crown Affair, again.

The original movie came out in 1968 and starred Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. Norman Jewison directed with Alan Trustman penning the script. The story was:

A debonair, adventuresome bank executive believes he has pulled off the perfect multi-million dollar heist, only to match wits with a sexy insurance investigator who will do anything to get her man.

Sexy is a word I would use to describe the movie. The scene with McQueen and Dunaway playing chess is hot! You could cut the sexual tension with a knife.

In 1999, a remake came out starring Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo. This version was directed by John McTiernan and penned by Trustman, Leslie Dixon and Kurt Wimmer. Honestly, the only thing I remember in the movie was seeing Russo’s boobs.

The Thomas Crown Affair remake for 2024 is going to be different I imagine. Michael B. Jordan is set to direct, and star, for Amazon MGM Studios. The script is by Drew Pearce, from a previous script by Wes Tooke and Justin Britt-Gibson.

There is no news on who is going to be the Dunaway/Russo character. If I were to take a guess, I would say a man because we all know the whole ‘man and woman’ thing is so last century.
