Producers are planning a new biopic about Kim Novak called Scandalous! The film tells the story of the romance between Novak and singer Sammy Davis Jr. It will star Sydney Sweeney as Novak and David Jonsson as Davis Jr.
However, Novak is not keen on the idea of Sweeney playing her in the biopic. In a recent interview with The Times, Novak said:
“I would never have approved. [Sweeney] sticks out so much above the waist.”
I didn’t think Sweeney’s nose was that big…oh, wait, I see what she means. Doing some research, back in the day, Novak was happily endowed in the chestal area.
Novak told The Times that she and Davis Jr were drawn to each other because they had “so much in common”. She went on to say the casting of the buxom Sweeney would mean the movie would focus on the two having sexual chemistry. Novak went on to say:
“There’s no way it wouldn’t be a sexual relationship because Sydney Sweeney looks sexy all the time. She was totally wrong to play me.”
In the same interview, Novak gave more insight into the relationship. There was a rumour that Harry Cohn, the then-president of Columbia Pictures, paid a mobster to break Davis’ legs and blind him if he didn’t marry a Black woman. Novak went on to say she believed this rumour. Davis went on to marry Loray White, a Black singer, in 1958.
The biopic, Scandalous! has been a stand still for while now, and stuck in post pre-production.
