Anyone who knows anything about Last Movie Outpost knows that we are partial to a bit of Jaws here. Could we ever be tempted to be one of those adults who buys Lego? Having seen the price of those Star Wars kits I would have to say, no.
However, this might tempt a few. Lego announced a Jaws set on July 4th, the famous holiday featured in the movie. To go along with this announcement, they released a 90-second abridged, bloodless, and suitable for children, version of the all-time classic Steven Spielberg movie.
Called “Jaws in a Jiffy”, it takes a fast walk through some iconic scenes from the movie. It decides not to include Alex Kintner or the estuary Scout master attacks, for obvious reasons. Scenes recreated in block form include the 4th of July billboard, the Orca’s departure, and Chrissie’s final swim. Other scenes include the barrels and the raft’s return to shore.
The Lego set itself is the Orca, the crew, and the shark. So you can recreate Quint’s grisly demise in the privacy of your own home over and over again.
The 1497 piece set will be released on August 6th for the tragic man-child in all of us.
