Well, it has finally happened. Formerly one of the biggest gigs available in the world of movies, and it has now fallen so far that actors are turning it down. Recent Oscar-winner Mikey Madison has said “no” to Star Wars.
Variety has carried a report that confirms the star of Anora has been offered a role in the Shawn Levy directed movie, and she has turned it down.
The Deadpool & Wolverine director is working on a new Star Wars movie with writer Jonathan Tropper (The Adam Project) that is said to be set years after the events of The Rise Of Skywalker but with little or no connection to the so-called Skywalker Saga.
This leaves Ryan Gosling is the only confirmed name for the film so far in the project to be co-produced by Levy and Kathleen Kennedy (who will apparently be leaving Lucasfilm… any day now. Any day…. now! No? Still here?)
The film is a standalone project and, on current trajectory, will be the next Star Wars project into theaters after The Mandalorian And Grogu which is still more than a year away. Way to leverage that zeitgeist and ride the wave, Lucasfilm!
