It’s another Monday, another week at work, and another day trying to dodge HR about that email you sent on Friday. It was a funny meme, if the large Karen from accounts didn’t like it, she shouldn’t have opened it.
As per usual, the Last Movie Outpost has some memes for you below. You’re welcome.
But first, what do you need to moan about this Monday? What did you see over the weekend that irked you?
Mine is a sort of Monday moan, as I watched Clash of the Titans (1981) again. It’s been a while, and don’t get me wrong, but I love this movie. Forget Nolan’s Odyssey; this is where it’s at! You have Greek mythology, an interesting story, a hero saving the girl, and monsters – lots of monsters.
The effects, by Ray Harryhausen, are just stunning; they are handcrafted, painstakingly animated, and put on the screen in an epic adventure. My Monday moan is about stop motion animation. Today, computers do all the work, in real-life quality, and you genuinely cannot tell what is real and what is fake. Yes, for movies, it’s a good thing, but at the same time, not seeing stop motion is just not as good.
Wallace and Gromit are a good example. In the original A Grand Day Out, you could see all the fingerprints of the animators. Did you care? No, because the animation was so good and you couldn’t help but love the characters. Their last outing, Vengeance Mot Foul, was all too clean…it’s just not the same.
That’s my moan, what about you? Oh, and here are the memes.
