It’s another Monday; time to drag yourself off the sofa, head to work, and switch your brain off until the weekend. If Mondays were a movie, Alex Kurtzman would write it, Kathleen Kennedy would produce it, and Zack Snyder would direct it. That’s right, I went there!
The memes, as always, are below, but what do you need to moan about this Monday?
My Monday moan is about a movie Hawk suggested: Remarkably Bright Creatures (2026). I put it on and got into the movie, which is, very good. However, when it came to the end, I kind of hated it…with a passion, to be honest.
I’m not going to spoil it, but it had a staggeringly convenient coincidence at the end. I double-guessed it before the big reveal, but it was really stupid. There was no way on earth it could have happened.
It really annoyed me, as the rest of the movie was very good, very heartfelt even. I told Hawk I was annoyed that I was crying over an octopus. Again, that’s not a spoiler, but I don’t like having my emotions touched.
Where was I? Yes, movies with stupid endings. When you get all invested, and then it’s a complete letdown at the end. A lot of Stephen King movies are like that; Mr Madigan’s Phone was very much like that. He wrote a great story, only to give up at the end and leave you feeling empty.
