It’s just another manic Monday, Ohhhhhh, wish it was Sunday, Ohhhhhh, that’s my fun day. Don’t moan about an earworm, just think about Susanna Hoffs and everything will be OK.
Interesting movie fact: Susanna was one of the background dancers in Austin Powers band in the first movie.
Even today, she’s still a stunner. Anyway, on with Monday Movie Memes and a good old moan about the weekend. What did you end up watching? Anything good? Anything to keep that ‘eternal flame’ burning this Monday? (A little Hoffs joke there).
I ended up watching Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, with Angelina Jolie, from 2001. It’s one of those movies I hadn’t seen in an age, and I wanted to try it again.
Overall, it’s disappointing. If it came out today, you’d say she was a girl boss, but then, it’s Lara Croft! She came on the scene in 1996, and even with her triangle boobs, she was a girl boss we liked.
Sadly, the Tomb Raider movie was nothing more than a series of cool scenes, stitched together with a story somehow. A lot of it was completely unnecessary, like when Lara took out the armed assassins while dangling on a bungee cord. Did it look good? Yes, but was it completely stupid? Also yes. They don’t make them like that any more… wait, yes, they do!
